2019 JAMB Result: The Conspiracy Against The Masses -By Fakinlede Pelumi

JAMB STUDENT

The eyes of both applicants and their parents was on Professor Is-haq Oloyede as he set the stage for the most saddened Jamb Result in the history of Nigeria. From my perception of that man who sit as the Jamb registrar after Professor Dibu Ojerinde, I see Oloyede as a man very much interested in returns making as he is keen about the amount of money he made during the exam.

From speculation, about 1.8 million Nigerians applied for this year Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) which commenced from 11th of April and the results wasn’t released till 11th of May which is exactly a month and the outcome of the result as led to tears and suicide.

Now to why I termed the result a conspiracy against the masses is because it was carried from the news that Jamb released the results for just 136,000 candidates while if the remaining is released, the applicants will have woeful results. Even the one that was released was still nothing to write home about. The only good news in this year’s result is that a 15 years old boy got the highest mark yet it is so sure he won’t be able to get admission into the University based age issue. Making that the first conspiracy because if the boy was a son of the rank and file, he won’t be denied the opportunity to get an early admission.

I am not surprised at the results due to the fact that I could see a political undertone in which to limit and reduce the number of those who get a university degrees among the masses making education something a minute number of the downtown guys can get. Not forgetting that admission these days is by who you know not what you got. And those who could not secure admission will go into trading and farming

And again, even if a little number of the downtowners can get into federal and state institutions, those who could not will have know option than to opt for private Universities which have been established by those upper class citizens in which they can still sap the little pennies off the masses who wants education at all cost.

And again, I see the result as a way of reducing the power of ASUU and the rest academic bodies who when they see that the number of students intake in public Universities has reduced will concentrate on begging the government to help get more students to school instead of going on strikes to fight for their rights or to make these public Universities lecturers to seek employment with the private Universities reducing the burden of salaries on the government.

This year’s result is Anti people and the registrar should look into rectifying this to give hope for the Nigerian students who are interested in going to school.
