Like a bent reed, yet ‘stagger-standing’.

Like a fish out of water, yet clenching unto life only with its will.

Precious lives were lost, and their Takers bragged

The Naira bowed low; and the neighbours jeered

Some Princesses of the land were taken into captivity, and the pledge for their rescue became an anthem to the King

Corruption sang, and the people welcomed her rhythm

She laughed, and everything sounded funny; sycophancy.

Then came Nigeria!

Fearless; imbued with strength of character

Flawless; a terror to the ills of society

His never-thought-of strategies stand him out

Not a reed but a ruler; straight

Not a fish out of water but a ‘terrestrial fish’; visionary

He disregards The Pledge, turning anthem into action

He disarms the Takers, turning them into obeyers

And hope returned…

The music of sound leadership was heard all over the world

Then Nigeria’s children returned from far and wide; joyful

Full of joy that their later days are more promising; thankful

Full of thanks that their home has finally assumed its name; peaceful

A peace with a remarkable glow- seen by the blind, heard by the deaf

A new dawn; a new nation

…the sudden gust of change

Hail Nigeria!

Hail her resilience!

Hail her strength!

Hail her poise!

Against all odds, she’s coming out strong, bold and victorious!

So love her already, cherish her, nurture her, above all, be the Nigeria you desire.

Hush the accusing voices! The change starts with You!

I Believe in Nigeria, our country, big, strong and famous, with unquenchable dreams and hopes; sailed through the political junters with a sense of purpose, unity in diversity and against all odds, stood the test of time.

I am proud to be a Nigerian the giant of Africa.
it for us a new dawning.

Indeed so. Joylessly, many are yet to realise this. They tend to see Nigeria from the view point of one who is watching a replayed football match.
