Some days ago I began a cyclic and random tweet on the Boston Marathon bomb blast that took Americans by surprise. Part of that tweet was a line that says “President Barack Obama said in his address that he will do all that is in his power to capture the people behind the attack, if that is the case, why then did they capture and kill one of those innocent boys?” The responses I got supported my opinion, however on facebook, I got one response that says, “Jeff, what makes them innocent?” I wanted to respond with reasons but rather felt it will be worthwhile putting it up on OpinionNigeria for her audience to have their views and opinions as well.

Immediately after the blast, Secret Service, FBI, Counter Terrorist Unit of the United States of America etc, were running from pillar to post , as well as rescue teams. They instantly started putting up what according to them, was a narrow list of suspects after going through surveillance cameras and city satellites within the vicinity. The next thing we saw on CNN was that two brothers have been marked as suspects and are been pursued by the authorities. Many hours later, we heard that one of those boys has been killed on a shootout and the other critically injured.

Now according to some of the analyst that was brought in after the blast said that those boys that were been accused and pursued by men from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, don’t match the profile of a terrorist. It is not possible even for a sociopath to kill or violently injure a large number of people without having a raise of heart as regards feeling and emotions, threats only terrorists could accommodate. Even during interrogation of the critically injured brother, every approvable interrogatory method proved that they were innocent to the accusation.

What makes them innocent? Here is my responds if you are reading this my friend, what makes them innocent is simply and squarely due to the fact that the FBI or much better, the American government had nothing on them. The only reason they arrested them was because the US government “claimed” they saw one of them coming out of the building minutes before the bomb went off, with a backpack. And also because according to them, they have been writing inciting, instigating and threatening articles as well as tweets against the American government.

For the purpose of clarification, lets break it down, those boys don’t want safety any more than those who were affected or managed to escape the blast. That camera caught them entering or exiting the building is not enough prove to indict and kill anyone of them, it’s not enough prove that they were the psychopaths that carried out the attack. Come to think of it, who in this age of internet and technological advancement don’t write or tweet what they feel about their government? Everyone does, I do. Every now and then I write to state my opinion on national or international issue, the style I choose to take depends on the nature of the issue and my frame of mind, and am guessing you know that most Americans give it to their government straight without trying to filter their language or having the time to choose their words carefully. Those boys were picked because they are not Americans. The constitution was instituted out of extra-ordinary circumstances, circumstances like the one currently been reviewed and America don’t have the right to question the boy without a lawyer present, and that’s his right.

If those boys were really the ones responsible for the attack, why did Obama state that he “will” do everything in his power to bring those responsible for the crime to book, even after capturing and killing one of the boys? We all know the dislike America as a government and as a people have for people from the MIDDLE EAST, we all know that America has never forgotten what Osama Bin Laden did to them, the 9/11 bombing. They see every Middle Easterner as a terrorist. My believe is that the real bombers are still at large and it will do America much good if they begin now to look for them instead of putting their resources on the boy that is still alive. From where I sit, the boys are neither professionals nor fanatics.

I believe we are on the same page when I say that there are many theories to this, a lot of ‘what if’. For instance, what if the social networks accounts the authorities based their proof on were hacked accounts used by the real terrorist? What if like every other Americans, they write to all available medium, stating their opinion, views and analysis on issues that involves the country they reside in? What if those boys were in that venue to watch the sport competition just like every other Americans but happen to be in the right place at the wrong time? What if those boys are not been setup but unknowingly used for that purpose? What if the explosion is just a way to distract the American government from looking further into the bigger attack planned by the real terrorist?

There are too many theories that could be generated from the situation, however, one thing is sure and certain, there is no matter of analysis that will do because for me, analysis or statistic is like a mini skirt, it never shows you everything and it never covers everything.

In as much as i respect your views and opinion regarding the ongoing America’s problem, you must know that these alleged suspect, including the one killed, were never given the chance to be brought in for questioning. They were being hunted like animals trying to escape their nest. You asked for historical prove that Americans has done such in the past, here is one for you…The Oklahoma blast, in April 19, 1995. This blast claimed 168 lives, including 19 children under the age of 6,[1] and injured more than 680 people.[2] The blast destroyed or damaged 324 buildings within a sixteen-block radius, destroyed or burned 86 cars, and shattered glass in 258 nearby buildings. Two Americans, Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were arrested and found guilty to this bombing. That was in the 90s, what do you see happens today? There have been countless serial shootings by teenage Americans, killing tens of Americans in schools, hospitals etc. As regards this boys issue, a lot of things point to the fact that they are still innocent to the accusation part of which was mentioned in the article…look, what most of you know are what the American government show you on CNN or other medium, but there are more to it and you know that.

It is amazing that a Nigerian sitting at some corner delights in correcting US in relation to US matters, not minding the terror attacks at your backyard. Is it simply because the mindless & unpardonable massacre of Nigerians at places of worship, schools, bakeries etc has not affected them? God deh…
