I am pessimistic over the inauguration day in Nigeria as a democratically elected president will be taking over power again even if it is said that he had rigged the whole process to retain the office yet it is a progressive step in the history of the most populous black country. Whether the date is May 29 or June 12, all I can say is that it will be a day to unleash the beast we haven’t seen in the last four years. Looking at political terrain, one can quickly judge that the political leaders in this country become something else once they get the chance to be in the office for another tenure ranging from the Ebora of Owu himself down to the least of them. The disposition of Mimiko cannot be forgotten quickly amidst the Ondo State civil servants.

Now, the group termed as the progressive have found themselves in power for another four years with a man they don’t vividly know his intentions. PMB is a man that in my myopic mind, I can describe as a green snake wallowing in a deep green grass and cannot be easily spotted. Looking at his actions against the rule of law while citing the case of Dasuki and the Shiite leader where the judiciary had order their release from detention, one can say that we should expect more of political prisoners in the incoming tenure.

His social intervention policies has being a scam of temporal relief starting from the Trader Moni to the feeding programme that keep taking so much money to the Npower programme which has provided temporary employment to jobless Nigerians but it is good to remind you that Npower is an empowerment policy not employment so it is a scam so to say but the fate of these ones is at stake if the new tenure guarantee the continuation. Looking at the 2016 batch whose time of engagement has elapsed but for election reasons was extended, these folks don’t know their fate as at permanency because they were cajoled to vote and canvass for vote for PMB in order to remain on the payment voucher. The 2017 batch are scared thinking they might not enjoy the privileges the previous batch had enjoy talking about the gadget and completion of term. Nobody can judge what Buhari will do judging from his recent statement that school degree is not a prerequisite for employment.

I see his anti corruption fight going internal seeing that he knows the corrupt people around him and had use them to get what he want and he might use this period to deal mercilessly with them knowing that he does not need their help to win another election. So I will advise his political allies to tread with caution around him.

This time, expect a silent man who will act deaf to the cry of labour unions and Civil Right organizations. Your strikes and protests might not move him an inch then we should expect more collapse in governance. And don’t forget that the victory of the just concluded election in Nigeria is a victory for Fulani Hausa and so I don’t see a reduction in the inhumane activity of the herdsmen and expect a more silent president on that issue.

Even before the commencement of the tenure, suicide and suicidal attempts have become rampart but all I know is that If this inauguration is unleasing a beast, Nigerians have survived something like this before and we will again.

But if the above prediction is not occuring just know we are a step closer.
