It is amazing how far this seasons most prestigious tournament UEFA champions league has turned out. Most pundits must have predicted otherwise but, that is the more reason we love football and the more reason the world craves for the money spinning competition, the champions league. Champions league has thrown football fans a bone again, wonderful draws has been made.
Meet the 2013/2014 UEFA champions league semi-finalist, they are: Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Atletico de Madrid. Lets evaluate their chances of reaching Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Lisbon; 24 May, in Portugal.

Atletico have an impeccable record this season, winning 8, drawing 1, losing just 1 and scoring a whopping 22 goals in the process and conceding just 5. Chelsea on the other hand has to struggle through to the semi-final ahead of the rich boys from Paris, PSG. Mourinho will be hoping by the time the game is set his star man, Eden Hazard will be fit and ready to play –if Chelsea is to pull through, which they are more than capable of doing with the tactical nous of Jose Mourinho, they have to bring in a lot of physicality for which they were known for, of course, they applied that in great effect against PSG. To intimidate Atletico de Madrid, Chelsea will have to revert to some negative tactics to keep things tight at the back. Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich.
What a draw?! Before the draw some pundits have said that if any team can stop Bayern Munich it is definitely Real Madrid. Madrid scaled through because Borussia Dortmund was very wasteful on the night. Germany has turned to something more of a debacle for Los Meringues’, the best counter attacking team. Both sides boast of massive talent scattered all over the field, with great managers, considered to be veterans in the competition. Real Madrid boasts of the tournament highest goal scorer, and the reigning world footballer of the year. This will definitely bring back the debate of who is the best between Ronaldo and Frank Ribery, who came third behind Lionel Messi. Madrid have to be in their best form to see off Bayern Munich, if they so much as sleep like they did in the second leg in Signal Iduna Park, they will be embarrassed by the Bavarians both home and away. Pep Guardiola is already aware of what to expect from Madrid, since he’s played them all through his career with Barcelona. Who wins this epic encounter? This is too close to call. Bayern Munich have always had an edge over Real Madrid, in 20 meetings, Bayern has won 11, drawn 2, and lost 7, scoring an impressive 33 goals and conceding 26. One may want to give it to the men in white, considering the hoodoo that comes with winning the champions league back-to-back since inception, but the game will be decided on the field of play.
