At least, for the very first time under the presiding leadership of Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the Senate seems to make sense watching the plenary session through the live link from Saraki’s official Facebook page yesterday. The Senate portray the beauty of an independent legislature. A legislature whose selection of its leadership is not dictated by the executive to produce stooges and common puppets. Or a legislature that is unnecessarily constrained by the shackles of control of oligarchy within the party.

Never should I be misquoted, I wasn’t saying Nigerian Senate are living up to expectations; not with their tactless running cost and jumbo allowances. But for once, the Senate seems to defend the interest of the common man.

In fact, It’s an idea a reasonable government should know will not see the light of the day from the inception. Increasing the data tariff rate when the minimum salary remain the same. When many countries not worth our value are boasting of free WiFi connection to their citizens.

This present administration has increased the price of fuel, power supply, foods and substantially reduced the price of hunger for common man. Enough of this ripoff. Yes. Every other things in Nigeria has increased except for workers salary. They make life so unbearable for the citizens and at the same time expect loyalty and support. The Internet today serve to be the consolation to average Nigerians and most of our jobless youths.

President Buhari is brave but afraid of media criticism and bitter truths. The voice of the voiceless that seems to expose his ineptitude and his ever lackadaisical approach to burning national issues to the rest of the world. Today, it is no gainsaying that it is on social media most youths hide their faces from supremacy to share their feeble opinions on the platter of nation-pity and sanctimonious dispositions; to air their grievances which is their statutory and constitutional obligation under a supposed democratic system.

More than airing opinions and criticisms; it won’t be an overstatement to emphasize that the free information online is far better than most of the ones we are exposed to in our universities today.

Mr. President should remember that revolution is the festival of the oppressed.

This is another signal fire, a beacon calling on the Nigerian youths to stand up in their numbers and strength and take their position from the old-granny octogenarians playing politics with their future and destiny. Good leadership is the panacea to the the leadership embarrassment in the country. Conscious youths in politics, a good look to good governance in Nigeria.
