Your excellency Sir, I would want to start by saying happy democracy day to you, your deputy, members of your cabinet, both state and federal representative, our senators, and my fellow Kano indegenes.

On the 29th of May, 2016, I listened carefully to your presentation on democracy day, and I made a critical analysis on the presentation.

First of all, I would want to start also by commending your efforts of continuity and innovation. The fact that you are continuing the projects of the previous administrations, some of which are over 12year old, I think is something to commend.

Nevertheless, I foumd out that most of the roads completed, like Korau road, Kwairanga road, and many others, which am a witness they are completed. But then, are those roads more important than others? Is Nassarawa LGA roads, the area of the elites more important than other roads across Kano state? Take the road that connects Court road, Aminu Kano teaching hospital road, karkasara, Sallari, Yan Bulo, Hausawa Bawo road and Masallacin Murtala. I knew the road for over 15years, but uptil today, things are only getting worse instead of getting better. Infact, even a person person on foot on that road needs to be very careful and finds it difficult to pass, especially after rain. The road that connects all those important places is supposed to be full of economic activities and cash flow, but unfortunately, the road has been abandoned, and led to the killing of all the economic activities in that area.

Another road I would propose the government to work on is the Dan Agundi road. The situation of that road is to the extent that last week I was in the area after rain, I was walking on the road, and suddenly I fell inside a hole at the middle of the road full of mud, and uptil now, my shoes are stocked in that place. The people there are suffering from that, and also their economic activities have been drastically reduced.

I was also surprised that the basic needs of the people like Food, Shelter, Security, Clean water were presented at the end of your presentation. I believe what the people need now more than anything else is security of lifes and property and Food to eat. These are supposed to be your governments top priority. Satisfying the peoples basic needs first before their wants. I would want to own a house, but then I need to be safe and not hungry first in order to aim for that. I would advice you to understand the difference between the peoples Basic needs and their wants.

I like your housing program. 2000 2 bedroom flats for low income earners is a good  initiative. But then, we hope you create wider awareness on the program, and the people the program targets should be the once to benefit the program, not just friends and families.

I would also want to comment on the environment program. I can vividly remember at the time of your inauguration, you declared your first project OPERATION KEEP KANO CLEAN. These program was designed to clear Kano of all dirts and ensure the cleaniness of the state. Unfortunately for the people of court road, that marked the beginning of their nightmares. The refuse dumping area, visited by alot of tractors, scattered the place, and the place began smelling that you can even smell the odour 1 mile away. Life became unbearable for the residents around the area, shops had to close down, economic activities were completely killed in the area also. Also, in that same place, at nights, fire is being set at the place, and smoke invades the whole of the area, sophocating people and given them sleepless nights. Others had to vacate their houses. They are about 3 hospitals around the place, how do you expect patients to survive? They were soo many complains about the issue by the residents, but all were ignored, and empty promises were made on the issue.

Conclusively, I would want you to adjust where necessary, correct were they is correction, and initiate new idea through the help and advice from abled people. Believe me, many people are willing to be given the government advices on how to develop for free of charge. All you have to do is source out these kind of people, sit with them, and you will be surprised the kind of impact they would make in Kano state development.
