Vocational School Is The Only Solution To Unemployment In Nigeria -By Nwogboji Emmanuel Usulor
When GEJ brought the idea of building more Universities, we failed to realise that the more Universities we have, the more unemployed graduates we would have. If we had breathed new life to our vocational schools in expense of more Universities, the desperation for white collar jobs would have reduced to the barest minimum. There wouldn’t have been so many people whining about lack of jobs.
Nevertheless, all courses are relevant in one way or the other, but O boy, read some courses and I bet even if you managed to get employment through ‘I know him’ (IKH), you would be placed under a department not related to what you studied in University.
If private and public entities can not seek your services based on what you studied in university, know that you have wasted four years of your life.
Therefore, I implore the university aspirants to think very well before applying for any course. Some courses are better studied as second degree.
Finally, let’s nostalgically bethink the vocational schools as the only way out!!!
