What you could lose if you don’t stop wearing men trousers!

Last week I was watching a documentary where a TRAIN driver in New Zealand wore a SKIRT instead of a trouser to work and when asked why he decided, according to the employer as well as the CNN reporter, to ridicule himself by dressing in an awkward manner, his responds was “times are hard”. They didn’t understand what he meant by “times are hard” so he went further to explain: that ever since women began wearing men clothes, more especially trousers, it has become unaffordable by some class of people in the society and so since he can’t regularly afford buying a trouser, he opted wearing some of his sisters skirt to work.

Funny you will say but that is just how it is. In spite of how comfortable some women say they are when they put on a skirt, some have made it a culture to wear men trousers irrespective of what you and I think about it. I don’t even want to go into what the scripture says about putting on wears that aren’t made for your gender but the reality is, the more women wear things that are meant for men, the more expensive it becomes, not just for a certain class of people in the society, but for all men.

Imagine you coming home some day with your lady friends, your husband or your boyfriend come out to open the door for you, and what you see is the guy on SKIRT, preferably, your skirt. How would you feel, ashamed or glad? Whatever feeling you have which by the way, will be in the areas of “ashamed”, that’s how we men also feel about you putting on things that are not meant for you. Yes! Some men call you smart, gorgeous, attractive on jean trousers, but there are other people whose nature you are trampling upon.

You are called sweet or whatever name they call you because over the years, it (men trousers) has mastered your body and formed a shape that rhymes with figure, so also will ladies call us sexy if we make it a duty to start wearing skirts, bikini, ladies suit paints etc. In all honesty, right now, I can’t think of anything that a man wears that women don’t wear and that is not fair. You ladies go to shops or wherever to buy these stuff without even bargaining for it, or some funny men out there take you people to those shops to buy these things without bargaining and because the seller perhaps has sampled you, calls a ridiculous price and you pay without blinking, so also they call for us and never agrees to step down their prices because they know that if we don’t buy, people like you will come to buy them.

I am not entirely sure you will like it if one day you suddenly return home, almost ready to go to Church or some functions that requires SKIRT but can’t find your best skirt because your brother has wore it out. I am not sure you will enjoy it when you buy wig to fix and your brother fix it on before you do. How about your finger nails, your body hug shirt etc., these are the things you could lose if you don’t stop wearing men clothes.

I understand your argument Mr Akin, however, you should also know that every nationality have there culture and tradition and Nigeria is one that take serious, her culture as well as her traditions. Trousers came as a result of fashion so also does shoes, why are women not wearing “men office shoes” to work but rather prefer to wear highhill shoes or the other sort of ladies shoes? Even though trousers came as a result of fashion, there are those that are meant for men and those that are meant for women, each gender should stick to theirs. Cheers!!!

Mr. Jeff, I disagree with you totally. Are you saying that God is foolish by creating women different from men and give them their own styles of dressing? Both Christianity and Islam has not supported women wearing men’s dress. What we are saying is the provoking manner in which ladies departed from their God created wears to men’s own. Pictures of our religious leaders prophets and Apostles in both religion never expose themselves. Civilization should have a limit in order to uphold our culture. Dressing is part of what is today responsible to rapes here and there. When we talk about wearing tousers, we should focus our mind on African Culture and Nigeria and stop bringing India, America or whatever you may call it. We are quick to copy the wrong things but good things never come from us. May God help us.

What is your point exactly? So Scottish men wear skirts and I’m very sure this has nothing to do with the fact that women are wearing trousers. Please don’t just post an article unless you have a strong message to pass across.
