Why i don’t sympathize with Governor Danbaba Suntai for the aircraft accident.

Gov Suntai and the wreckage of the aircraft

Since news of the Governor’s crash broke out, i’ve been asking whether Nigerians should feel sad for him or be glad that the crash happened? Excluding the fact that he is human, are there other reasons why Nigerians should sympathize with him? I don’t sympathize with Governor Danbaba Suntai for the aircraft accident, i feel is a good thing to the people of Taraba State.

The entire citizen of this country is suffering today from the hands of Boko Haram and other insurgent groups due to the actions and in-actions of these people. It was gathered that the Governor recently set up “Taraba Airline” following his purchase of an Embraer ERJ-145 jet, in addition to the plane (Cessna Grand Caravan) with which he had the accident with. Plane he purchased from a member of the House of Representatives (from Kebbi), Bala Ibn Na’Allah, who recently bought a Swiss-made Pilatus PC12 with tall number N689PE.

According to report, he was flown abroad a few hours ago for treatment. If Mr Suntai had established a world class hospital in Taraba State, would that not be beneficial to him and others in his State by extension, today? These are the same people that run to Abuja with their cap on their hand, asking for more money in order to keep their State running. These are the same governors who requested that the On-shore/Off-shore dichotomy bill be amended so they can have more revenue for their States. The Northern State is where it is today because of neglect. Why should i sympathize with this man?

These governors engage in private aircraft competition and foreign medical treatment contest. I definitely know that my conscience will not allow me sympathize with him? My sympathy lies with the millions of Nigerians who wallow in pains and die of curable medical conditions due to lack of medical care and facilities. To the millions who die on our death-trap roads due to the neglect from the looting and flying politicians.

Mr Suntai has been a controversial figure in Taraba politics. He recently organized the impeachment of his deputy, Sani Abubakar Danladi. Aviation sources say he also owns an airstrip which he built with embezzled funds in his village. Individuals like him are people the Boko Haram insurgents ought to be targeting.

Now that he has tasted pain and been hospitalized, maybe he will have a rethink “IF” he makes it back alive.

I do not sympathise with the governor because in this country we have illegality too many that come to hunt us. He is a victim of his illegality. Imagine a sitting governor enrolling in school of aviation in which he will have no time to attend training sessions. Yet this man graduated in 6 weeks(2010-2011) and was dully licensed to fly a jet. What a shameful country where money buys everything! He thought the recklessness of VIO/FRSC issuing underserved licences could be carried into air travels. FOR ME THE GOVERNOR WENT ON SUICIDE MISSION PERIOD.

hi Ibrahim, I think you are the tribalist. I always like to say things the way they are supposed. The Governor broke all rules to get a licence. Unless we rise above protecting our own when they behave unreasonably we will not move forward in this country. Even if it were my governor I will not offer any prayer of recovery for him for his illegality. TRUTH IS BITTER. PLS IBRAHIM READ THE POST ABOUT LUGARD AND NIGERIA. I have nothing to benefit if the governor is alive or not.
