Officially, the controversial 0.5% cybersecurity charge on electronic banking transactions has been halted by President Bola Tinubu.

According to Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, President Tinubu issued the suspension order after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) members deliberated.

Idris made this revelation on Tuesday during the FEC meeting at the State House in Abuja.
