2027: Wike Vows to Correct Past Leadership Mistakes in Rivers
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike vows to address previous leadership errors in Rivers ahead of the 2027 elections, praising Khana people for their loyalty and highlighting ongoing development projects under President Tinubu.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has pledged that the “leadership mistake” made by his camp in Rivers State will be decisively addressed in the 2027 elections.
Wike made the remarks during a thank-you visit to the people of Khana in Bori, Khana Local Government Area, where he commended their loyalty and political courage.
According to the former Rivers State governor, elected leaders are meant to serve the collective interest of the people, not personal ambitions.
He said, “We will not make the same mistake again at the state level in 2027. We will talk about it when the time comes. Just follow your leaders. Anywhere you see them going, that is where we are going.”
Wike emphasized that the visit was a gesture of appreciation rather than a political move, recognizing the people of Khana for their steadfast support of him and President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections.
He added, “During the turbulent period, Khana stood with us. Today, you can see the benefits: good roads, the University of Environment, and several other projects, all because of the President’s love. So many appointments have come to Ogoniland, and more are on the way.”
The Minister also stressed that Rivers voters would no longer base their choices solely on party affiliation but would prioritize family, loyalty, and development.
Earlier, Mr. Dumnamene Dekor praised Wike and President Tinubu for transforming Ogoniland into “the pride of the nation.” He said, “We are proud to be associated with you. Whatever you ask us to do, we will do; wherever you ask us to go, we will go.”
Speaking for women in the area, Mrs. Barile Nwakoh of APC Khana 1 State Constituency thanked Wike for remembering the people of Khana, noting that his growing influence in Rivers stems from his goodwill, sincerity, and dedication to the people. She added, “We are ready to work for Tinubu. Please tell Mr. President that we are here.”
