35-year-old YPP candidate battles Oyetola, Adeleke

The Peoples Redemption Party is fielding the second youngest candidate in 38-year-old engineer, Ayowole Adedeji.

Thirty-five-year-old Ademola Adeseye, who is running on the platform of the Young Progressives Party, will battle the incumbent governor Adegboyega Oyetola, 67, and 13 others in the July 16 Osun State governorship poll.

Adeseye, a medical doctor, is the youngest candidate in the poll, while Oyetola is the oldest.

Mukaila Adesoye, 66, who is the running mate to 58-year-old Oyegoke Omigbodun of the Social Democratic Party, is the oldest deputy governorship candidate.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke, is 61 years, while his running mate, Adegboyega Adewusi, is 62.

According to a chart containing details of the parties and the candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, 15 parties will field candidates in the poll.

None of the parties has a woman as the candidate, but six of them have women as running mates to male candidates.

No party is also fielding a candidate living with disabilities.

The Peoples Redemption Party is fielding the second youngest candidate in 38-year-old engineer, Ayowole Adedeji.

The Allied Peoples Movement is also fielding 38-year-old Awoyemi Lukuman as candidate at the poll.

Though the YPP is fielding the youngest governorship candidate, it has picked a 60-year-old woman, Stella Adeagbo, as the running mate.
