64th independence anniversary: FG declares Tuesday, October 1 public holiday
Additionally, Dr. Tunji-Ojo commended the perseverant and diligent Nigerian men and women, assuring them that their efforts would not go unappreciated.
On Tuesday, October 1, the Federal Government has proclaimed it a national holiday in observance of the 64th anniversary of the country’s independence.
In a statement released on Saturday, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, stated that Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Interior Minister, made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government.
The minister wished Nigerians both domestically and overseas a happy anniversary.
Additionally, Dr. Tunji-Ojo commended the perseverant and diligent Nigerian men and women, assuring them that their efforts would not go unappreciated.
“Aligning himself with the theme for the Anniversary, the Minister reiterated the need for Nigerians to reflect on the labour of our heroes past and be inspired for the tasks ahead, realizing that a Nigeria of our dream can only be built when we unite.
“While wishing Nigerians a Happy Independence Day Anniversary, Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged the citizens to continue to be steadfast in nation-building”, the statement added.
