A Call to Action for SDG 15 -By Abolade Oyeyemi Esther
The rapid disappearance of forests, the loss of biodiversity, and the erosion of cultural connections to the land are just a few of the challenges we face. As someone drawn to both thought and action, I aim to use my journalism to amplify the whispers of the earth and turn them into a collective call for action. Through my stories, I hope to inspire change and motivate people to take action to protect the land that holds us all.
Of course, as we strive to make progress in today’s world, it’s imperative that we remember our responsibility to the planet that sustains us. The 15th Sustainable Development Goal, Life on Land, is a timely reminder that our existence is deeply intertwined with the well-being of the earth. As guardians of the earth, it’s our ethical and urgent duty to protect its harmony and balance.
In pursuing our goals, we’ve often neglected the intricate web of life that binds us to nature. The earth provides us with shelter, sustenance, and stories, making it only right that we protect what gives us life. As a journalist, I recognize that words have the power to inspire change and bring attention to the pressing issues facing our planet.

However, my journey as a journalist will take me to the frontlines of ecosystem preservation, where I’ll document local efforts to protect and restore the natural world. I’ll also delve into the cultural and historical connections we share with the land, highlighting the importance of preserving these ties for future generations.
In Conclusion, SDG 15 is more than just a goal; it’s a call to reconnect with what sustains us and find meaning in what we’ve taken for granted. As I embark on this journey, I’m committed to using my pen and my voice to protect the land that holds us all.
