The aggressiveness displayed by some youths supporting the candidacy of Peter Obi must be checkmated lest history repeats itself in the case of APC, Buhari and his foot soldiers.

Peter Obi

For days now I have been seeing vituperation on the person of Tinubu, Atiku and other persons that disagrees with the choice of Obi as the next President of Nigeria.

Some even wished the old man death in their argument to convince people that Obi should be the next man to occupy the first political seat in the country.

Also, there is a growing tribal war of words gradually brewing online between the followers of Obi and Tinubu.

While I as a person do not think Tinubu should be the next president of Nigeria, it is not in my place to determine when he will die.

Only God can give and take life.

Just like none of us knows the exact day when death comes knocking on the door, either Tinubu lives or dies, it is all in the hands of God.

Today marks another Democracy Day in the history of our country, Nigeria.

But how many Nigerians remembered the youths that were brutally murdered by soldiers at the Lekki Toll Gate?

But the same youths are all over wishing themselves a HAPPY DEMOCRACY DAY.

To digress, I admired the personality of Peter Obi and how he has been addressing his opponents which is quite strange form the usual Nigerian politics we have grown up to know.

Apparently,  some of his followers don’t have the patience and the personality that Peter Obi has.

Some of them have resulted to insults against any differing views that challenge the candidacy of Peter Obi.

Others are blocking people because they have a contrary opinion.

In a democracy, people are allowed to have their own preferred candidate in an election.

That is the beauty of democracy and Peter Obi’s supporters must respect that lest they also turn to Buhari’s supporters that called people “Wailers.”

By the sheer grace of God, I have been privileged to work with INEC, and believe me when I say that it takes more than great personality, insults and massive online followership to win an election.

Tinubu and Atiku’s followers must be allowed to keep promoting their own without insults and enmity.

The aggressiveness displayed by some youths supporting the candidacy of Peter Obi must be checkmated lest history repeats itself in the case of APC, Buhari and his foot soldiers.

I will suggest that Obi’s followers should gather data, facts and present it to people who do not believe he is the right man for the job in 2023 instead of insulting, blocking and calling out.

The people who do not agree with their views are also Nigerians and if Peter Obi becomes a president, he has to govern all Nigerians and not only his followers.

Peter Obi’s supporters must know that a man cannot walk out of his own story no matter how fast he walks.
