A Rejoinder Against Kaduna Accountability Group: Setting the Record Straight on Mr. Jerry Adams
The people of Kaduna State deserve better than these baseless distractions. The progress of the state must continue, and Mr. Jerry Adams remains a key figure in ensuring that happens.

It is important to recall that Mr. Jerry Adams was appointed to a strategic and sensitive position in KADIRS by former Governor Nasir El-Rufai himself, after a rigorous assessment of his competency and academic background relevant to the revenue sphere. He was assigned a strategic portfolio with the future tendency to become the Chairman of the revenue organisation. At the time of his appointment, El-Rufai was fully convinced of Jerry’s capabilities, making his recent claims about Jerry’s incompetence not only contradictory but also driven by personal and political grievances.
Mr. Jerry Adams played a pivotal role in the management team in KADIRS that propelled Kaduna State to become the state with the highest internally generated revenue in the Northwest Zone. His contributions to the financial structure of the state were significant, and his achievements remain evident. However, because of political rifts, El-Rufai has resorted to rewriting history in a desperate bid to undermine the Uba Sani administration.
It is an undeniable fact that government is a continuous process. This is why Governor Uba Sani has remained committed to sustaining the development strides in revenue generation initiated during the previous administration. Under his leadership, Kaduna State still maintains its position as the highest revenue-generating state in the Northwest, with plans to expand even further.
Mr. Jerry Adams, under the guidance of Governor Uba Sani, has spearheaded several innovative strategies to boost Kaduna State’s revenue, including:
1. Implementation of the ‘Pay Kaduna’ Electronic Tax Portal – This digital platform allows residents and businesses to pay taxes remotely, streamlining tax administration and reducing revenue leakages.
2. Horizontal Expansion of the Tax Base – Instead of increasing tax rates, the administration has broadened the tax net to include more taxpayers, thereby fostering a business-friendly environment.
3. Reorganization of KADIRS – The service now operates optimally, adhering to global best practices.
4. Financial Inclusion Initiatives – This policy integrates underserved populations into the formal economy, expanding the tax base.
5. Attracting Investments Through Business-Friendly Policies – Mr. Jerry Adams has played a role in bringing businesses back to Kaduna, such as the $50 million Soya Bean Oil Refining Plant.
6. Agricultural Support Programs Through KADIRS – Aiding farmers and increasing revenue through agricultural initiatives.
7. Public Financial Dialogue and Annual Financial Summits – These initiatives increase transparency, encourage public input, and improve financial management, fostering trust in government.
Despite these accomplishments, former Governor El-Rufai has chosen to ignore them, misleading the people of Kaduna State to further his own political agenda. The Kaduna Accountability Group, in their desperate attempt to malign Jerry Adams, has demonstrated a lack of basic knowledge about the workings of KADIRS.
Their poorly written rejoinder even ventured into personal attacks, falsely accusing Jerry Adams of cultism simply because of his preference for wearing a beret. Such defamatory remarks are not only baseless but also can be subjected to legal action.
Furthermore, the Kaduna Accountability Group exposed its own ignorance by referring Hon. Bashir Suleiman Zuntu, the Accountant-General of Kaduna State, as the Attorney-General. Such a fundamental blunder highlights their lack of credibility and underscores the fact that they were merely regurgitating a politically motivated script.
In their desperation, they even questioned Jerry Adams’ qualifications for his current position, despite the fact that he was previously appointed to a top management role as Director Corporate Services in KADIRS. If their claims were true, then the fault would lie with El-Rufai himself, who initially appointed Jerry to a strategic role in revenue generation.
Niccolò Machiavelli once said, “The end justifies the means.” This appears to be the guiding principle of the Kaduna Accountability Group and its sponsors, who are willing to go to any lengths—including fabricating falsehoods—to attack Mr. Jerry Adams. Their malicious attempt to mislead the people of Kaduna State will not stand.
Mr. Jerry Adams remains committed to his duties and will not be distracted by baseless attacks. The people of Kaduna deserve the truth, and that truth is that Jerry Adams has been instrumental in strengthening the financial structure of the state.
The faceless Kaduna Accountability Group and their sponsors must understand that integrity, competence, and results cannot be overshadowed by cheap propaganda. The people of Kaduna are too enlightened to be swayed by baseless allegations from politically motivated groups.
Mr. Jerry Adams will continue to work diligently with Governor Uba Sani to ensure that Kaduna State remains on its progressive trajectory. The evidence of his competence is in the numbers, policies, and tangible economic growth that the state has experienced under his leadership.
It is high time the Kaduna Accountability Group and their paymasters abandon their smear campaigns and focus on constructive engagement rather than deceit and misinformation.
The people of Kaduna State deserve better than these baseless distractions. The progress of the state must continue, and Mr. Jerry Adams remains a key figure in ensuring that happens.
