Abdulrahman Abdulrazak: A Ray of hope -By Yahaya Ahmed

They say “every disappointment is a blessing” but I didn’t really belive this statement not until I witnessed first hand the incredible achievements of HE Gov Abdulrahman Abdulrazak in kwara state. Fortunately, after many years of enduring bad governance, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazak emerged as a form of blessing to kwara state. Kwarans had been deprived of their basic amenities by the previous administration and many a people had doubted his ability to achieve his political mandates due to the current economic situation in the country but he had continued to prove them wrong as he had done so much more than the people of kwara expected of him, HE has turned kwara state to a safe haven and also transformed the economic situation of the state tremendously. A lot of kwarans had gradually changed their doubtful mindset about him and due to the level of economic development in the state, the people are now harmonious and in full support to give his Excellency the opportunity to lead the state for a second term.

Kwarans had even wished he could stay longer than the constitutional provision of limiting a governors tenure to only two terms (8 years) and unfortunately there’s very little or nothing they could do to change the provisions of the country’s constitution. Governor Abdulraman has done in kwara state within four years what his predecessors failed to do within sixteen years. To mention a few, he has constructed and rehabilitated most of the roads including those in the rural area, he has continued to help the old and vulnerable by the provision of soft loans, he has also helped to support a lot of businesses in various ways, he has also made provisions for grants to help startups and also not limited to the overhauling of the states agricultural sector and the rehabilitation of states water works and he has many ongoing projects that are nearing completion like the virtual art center and many more.

Governor abdulrahman had gained special recognition among his counterparts because of his style of leadership including the inclusion of a number of the female gender as part of his political employees and his cabinet. I would say with the little I have mentioned, anyone who objects or opposes his Excellencies bid for second term would simply be identified as an ingrate. I would provide all the support I can to see His Excellency in office for second term to enable him continue the astounding legacies he had intended to achieve in kwara state and I’m sure majority if not all of kwarans would support him too.
