Former Lazio sporting director Igli Tare is said to be playing a key role in facilitating the move. Boniface, a standout performer for Leverkusen last season, has reportedly reached an agreement in principle with Milan and is now awaiting the final go-ahead to complete his switch to Serie A.

Leverkusen’s new head coach, Erik ten Hag, is believed to be prioritizing Patrik Schick as his first-choice striker and is open to Boniface’s departure.
