AFCON 2025: Davido Bets Over N71m on Super Eagles to Beat Morocco
Afrobeats star Davido stakes over ₦71 million on Nigeria to defeat host Morocco in the AFCON 2025 semi-final, expressing strong confidence in the Super Eagles’ title push.
Afrobeats superstar Davido has thrown his weight behind the Super Eagles ahead of their high-profile 2025 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final against host nation Morocco, staking more than ₦71 million on Nigeria to advance.
The singer shared a betting slip on his X (formerly Twitter) account, revealing a $50,000 wager on Nigeria to defeat Morocco, with an additional prediction that both teams will score at least one goal.
If the bet comes through, Davido stands to win over $348,274 — estimated at more than ₦500 million at current exchange rates.
Posting alongside the slip, the award-winning artiste expressed strong confidence in the team, writing: “Nigeria to make the finals and I’ll double my stake on my slip.”
The post sparked widespread reactions among fans and football enthusiasts as anticipation builds for the blockbuster showdown in Rabat.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles, inspired by the attacking firepower of Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, have been impressive throughout the tournament and now face their sternest challenge.
Morocco, enjoying a long unbeaten run and backed by home support, are under pressure to lift the AFCON trophy. Led by stars such as Achraf Hakimi and Brahim Diaz, the Atlas Lions are chasing their second continental title, their first since 1976.
