Afriland Fire: Tinubu Consoles Families, FIRS, UBA Over Loss of Lives

President Bola Tinubu has condoled with families of victims, FIRS, UBA, and Afriland Properties after the Broad Street Lagos fire, praising emergency responders and urging greater caution to prevent future tragedies.

President Bola Tinubu has expressed sympathy to the families of victims of the Tuesday fire outbreak at the Afriland Building on Broad Street, Lagos Island, as well as to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, which were affected by the incident.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the President called for increased caution, training, and vigilance to prevent a recurrence of such tragedies.

Tinubu conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the management and staff of Afriland Properties Limited, FIRS, UBA, and the bereaved families. He also wished the injured victims, currently receiving medical care, a speedy recovery.

The President commended the swift response of emergency teams, including the Federal Fire Service, first aid providers, medical personnel, and members of the public, for their dedication during the evacuation and rescue efforts.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and asked for divine strength for their families to bear the irreparable loss.
