The fact remains that, in times of crisis, there can either be the pompous (non)leader or the brave (grab it by the horn) one.

One type of leader shrinks and, by their (in)actions and body language, lead followers to push a narrative that the leader themselves are victims of the crisis.

The second takes charge, shows empathy and compassion, and chats a path of action. Through unmistakable clarity, they win over the true victims and leave lasting legacies.

The most dangerous type of leader is often a pompous one with a cult following. Sadly, we’ve had one too many of them in our recent history.

May Allah bring an end to the wanton destruction of lives and property. May complete peace and tranquility return to our world.

Going forward, May Allah guide us to choose compassionate, empathetic leaders. As individuals, May Allah not inspire in us the hunger for power for the simple sake of it; rather, the honest intention to serve the people we lead.
