Another Mire In Schools Reopening -By Usama Abdullahi

Every student while going to school should be in compliance with the Covid19 measures, which are stated as wearing of nose masks, facemasks, washing of hands with detergents and sanitizing them after, the application of physical distancing and one that disturbs more and that of which is most likely a feckless move is the order for not more than twenty-thirty students in per class.

It’s never been easy ever since schools were automatically shut down world wide due to the severe influence of the corona virus. In Nigeria, the rates got worsen and for that, the Federation was in great fear that it couldn’t lay down a definite time for the reopening of schools. Unluckily, some students, being bored of staying at home, got fussed about that and emerged unto the streets in protest for the schools reopening. In view of such disarray, the government assigned the police to take action on whosoever to involve in that. And for that, there was a quietude then on the streets.

Fortunately, the minister of education Adamu Adamu, has therefore declared 12 October as the actual date for schools reopening in a broadcast at the ending of the month of September. Students were excitedly hit upon hearing that. But one thing that has forsaken me in an undue posture is the measures deployed by the Federation to every school that will be reopened.

As been announced; every student while going to school should be in compliance with the Covid19 measures, which are stated as wearing of nose masks, facemasks, washing of hands with detergents and sanitizing them after, the application of physical distancing and one that disturbs more and that of which is most likely a feckless move is the order for not more than twenty-thirty students in per class.

We may, however, not see wrong in that. But it’s really a mess whereas not all schools are sufficiently and perfectly built. When you go to most schools within the nation, you’ll find out that some have few classes. On the other hand, you’ll see also see that some have the required classes but the width or breadth of the classes isn’t very much and for the reason, the students stay used to be very chaotic – which some of the students had to sit on the bare floor of the classrooms while others will be busy contriving how to fit in a single seat with their mates.

Like I earlier said, there is always havoc in such poor classes. And with these measures, I wonder how my fellow students and my teachers will cope up with; provided that not most schools have enough classes to contain fewer students into. Others may have all-important while some may not. This is completely another mire that’s likely going to occur if it’s not properly met. If markets, cinemas, elections, queues in banks, and conferences are held without any obstacle or positive records of the virus, then I guess all shall be well in schools.

The schools can bear masks wearing, hands washing and sanitization but for it to sustain the 20-30 students per class is another gigantic mire!
