Reverend Tunde Afe is an emerging light in the politics of Nigeria, especially since the return of the country to democracy in 1999, is obviously not an easy task.
As a private citizen, he has been involved in diverse ways to ensure that he lives to ensure that people are motivated to use their God given talents for productive living rather than the dominance of excuses that has shackled people from living an elevated life.
He doesn’t believe that his personal conviction in the Christian faith is compromised in anyway, but rather believing that if indeed he is true to his calling, he should be different and in doing the best for humanity, he is reaffirming his faith in Christ who lived and died for humanity. To the doubting Thomas, he has maintained a steady view that there is no crime in participating in politics.
He maintains that he wants to serve through the pulpit and any other platform and by doing so, to ensure that he leaves humanity better than he met it. His staying power is grace and that if a man with a c rare combination of intellect, excellence, honesty, industry, compassion and believer in hard work doesn’t get involved then the current spate of underdevelopment that has become a recurring decimal doesn’t need to be complaint about.
Rev. Tunde Afe has displayed in all his sphere of influence as he moves on that it is possible to live a life of faith and integrity. His voyage in life is anchored of an abiding faith in his readiness to serve the people.
He was involved in Ministry and Pastoral work at different capacities with the Redeemed Christian Church of God. His first Pastoral assignment was in 1995 as a youth Pastor with RCCG, having become born-again in 1994. He subsequently served as Pastor in different other parishes between 1995 and 2001. In August 2001, he relocated to Ado-Ekiti by divine instruction to commence the House of Faith and has had the privilege of ministering to over 5,000 congregants in a space of 15 years.
He has had a most impactful Radio broadcast since he began in the past 15years. The broadcast called Seeds of Greatness is a popular programme on Voice F.M. 89.9 Ado-Ekiti and Orange F.M. Akure, Ondo State.
He has been involved in youth empowerment programmes, peak performance training and coaching in Ekiti and beyond for the past 17 years with astounding results in life’s transformation.
He is an avid businessman with diverse business interests and flair for entrepreneurial voyage as Chief Executive Officer of Motion Zone Consulting and the Convener of the Faithway Business Academy that has produced more than 500 Entrepreneurs whose contributions to the nation’s GDP is unquantifiable.
As a pragmatist and in response to the economic meltdown,
He is the CEO of Motion Zone Agricultural Enterprises with 1000 hectares of farmland and 100 hectares of cultivated Cassava and other arable crops.
He serves as Senior Manager with Forever Living Products, a Multinational Company dealing in health and wellness products was recognized with the FLP award of best performance in new business. His sterling performance in business is not restricted as his Midas touch in all he does is evident in all his dealings.
In the field of politics, he is not entirely a rookie. He contested for the Ekiti State House of Assembly elections at the primary level, representing Ikole Constituency II under the banner of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria.
He was the youth Coordinator of the Youth wing of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria between 2010 and 2012 and has remained since 2013 the Executive Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Ekiti State chapter.
He has a firm belief that man was created by God to serve and live guided by only ennobling virtues, he has honoured over a thousand speaking engagements in the last 17 years several of such within and even beyond the frontiers of tertiary institutions and this has even led him to conduct leadership trainings as a Consultant to the Ekiti State Government under the administration of Chief Segun Oni as well as a Lead trainer for job creation agency during Dr. Kayode Fayemi’s administration. For him, each of these opportunities has given him an eagle’s eyes view of the yearnings of the peoples for opportunities to live their lives under the guidance of a conducive atmosphere where their latent and creative talents can be unleashed.
He is a theologian, philosopher and realists in the infinite possibilities for a mind readied for opportunities by serve humanity, especially when such is driven by selflessness.
He is a humanist. A team player, servant-leader and believer in the eternal principles of God as the most enduring values that can create a perfect world, sensing that our union as a nation is fraught with several imperfections, he maintains that there is nothing wrong with or in Nigeria that cannot be fixed by what is right.
He has taken this gospel around the country and especially now in partisan politics, he has canvassed for a collation of the people to effect the necessary change with politicians with proven competence. He considers it a crime against humanity to sit idly back and leave the political space and then turn around to begin to lament when getting involved is the only panacea.
He has commenced a series called, ‘Get Involved’ and the aim is to galvanize the faith-communities on the imperative of the moment which is to rescue Nigeria from the brink of collapse. Another series which he would kick start shortly is the ‘It is Time Series’-all of these rallies and efforts are geared towards creating the needed awareness and ensuring that the people get involved in the political process as that is the only fundamental method of correcting the years of mis-governance and neglect which the people has grappled with your years, most especially in recent years.
A purposeful and inspirational leadership is possible. He preaches it and believes in it with the whole of his mind. Matter of fact, he says that the most important things never to be compromised or lost is the mind. A people that have lost or with a compromised mind cannot long endure or thrive. He senses the fierce urgency of the moment, a moment that must be seized by the people to correct the foundation and fundamentals of bad governance that has endured for long.
He is happily married to his amiable wife and both have children. An avid bookworm and sportsman who enjoys playing classical sports such as Lawn tennis and football and pays attention to the welfare of his people in pursuits of their aspiration and defence within the Nigerian federation.
