APC Consensus Magic: Tinubu Should Start the Fight Now, Avoid Buhari’s 2003 Mistakes -By Obinna Akukwe

Rev Obinna Akukwe is disappointed that my Igbo brothers, our candidates are not serious. They are waiting for IPOB, MASSOB, OHANAEZE, PANDEF and Facebook to help them, instead of spending that money they looted and amassed and reaching out to relevant stakeholders across all regions, the manner Tinubu is doing.

Amotekun and Tinubu

With the consensus option during the APC Convention, the APC cabals have started hitting at Tinubu Presidency, as I predicted, to partly men three months ago, I advise the Jagaban to start his fight now, and not make the same mistakes Buharimade in 2003, after the massively rigged presidential polls in favor of Obaanjo second term.

Buhari was rigged out of the Presidency in 2003, in a poll in which Odumegwu Ojukwu of APGA was also rigged to the third position, while Obasanjo emerged winner. Buhari promised fire and brimstone and while some of us mobilized youths from different parts of Abuja to start a mass resistance to the Obasanjo rigging machine, Buhari and Odumegwu Ojukwu chickened out of the fight to our utter disappointment.

I wrote a widely publicised piece in 2011

‘Buhari,Jonathan and Book Haram’ and explained how Buhari won 2003 and 2007 presidential polls but Obasanjo- Atiku rigging machines and Obasanjo-Yaradua magic robbed him of victory. I stated in the piece that:

“Buhari is the most popular politician in the north. Had the 2003 and 2007 presidential elections been held according to minimum acceptable standards , Buhari would since have handed over to another President of Nigeria. You cannot claim to be searching for peace and security and ignore such a personality”.

Goodluck Jonathan’s tactlessness handling of the national polity gave the Katsina born general another chance in 2015.

Rev Obinna Akukwe is telling Jagaban Bola Tinubu publicly today that if he fails to strategize on how to checkmate this gang up, his Presidential dream will be urinated upon through consensus by June 2022. The Fulani’s have outsmarted him in the phase 1 of the fight. Let him take the bull by the horn and fight the fight of his life. Pretentious bootlicking will not save him.

In 2015 Buhari decided that the Baboon and Dog will be Soaked, if they rig him out again, and prepared effective political war machine, the riggers stopped out rigging and outsmarting him, and he became president. How he handled his presidency is a topic for another day.

If Jagaban continues to play safe, pretend that all is well, then goodbye 2023.

Umahi and Anyim are showing some seriousness while Okorocja is battling Uzodimma, Orji Kalu is boot licking Tinubu and ,Peter Obi waiting for IPOB endorsements .When Igbo’s fail again, let them not blame Ahmadu Bello, Uthman Danfodio and Awolowo for tactless campaign.

The manner Tinubu, Osinbajo, Adamu and many political appointees shunned his 70th birthday colloquim, forcing him to abandon the exercise, is a testament that the lonely days are here again

Let Tinubu fight the manner Buhari fought in 2015, with all legitimate arsenals at his disposal, avoid the mistakes of the President in 2003, or else walk the lonely paths of political ridicule.
