As They Trust in chariots and Horses so also Ortom Trust in God Almighty -By Chir Msugh Iorwase Armstrong

Ortom has successfully governed Benue for a two-term mandate and has delivered on the Benue top job effectively, sufficiently and satisfactorily, this delivery of dividends of democracy captured many sectors of the economy including security, critical infrastructure, Education, health and other sectors.

Samuel Ortom

As God does not despise a Man that confesses Him.

The majority of the Benue people have not taken out time to analyze and assess Governor Samuel Ortom’s political doggedness, sagacity and prototype.

They have not studied the man in Ortom, and they haven’t asked questions about the source of his strength, the God he worships.

They rather dwell so much on his upbringing, that he is a son of a nobody and that he had once worked in a motor park. Many have not studied what his beliefs are and what kept him going, even against giants.

For instance, in 2014 Governor ortom deliberately took his green biro and signed a resignation letter depicting he had resigned from the two ministerial appointments president Johnathan had given him to oversee.

It will be interesting to note that Governor Ortom as a core and grassroot politician, must have weighed the consequences and the negative implications of his decision, yet he resigned.

Eventually, Ortom defected to the All Progressive Congress, APC, and cliched the guber ticket and rode against the tidal waves, the election in which the declaration was made here in Makurdi, not even in Dauda which is very close to Abuja.

Ortom by the grace of God replicated what he did in 2015 in 2019 even when someone that has acted as God in Benue’s political landscape deployed all the forces against him, including ‘federal might’. Interestingly, the man who has played God lost his own election. It will be worth noting that in the 2019 election we saw the dethroning of a “demigod”, and the election was also announced here in Makurdi, yet the heavens didn’t fall on our heads.

A few days from today, our country, Nigeria will be conducting a general election in which Benue will participate actively, given that Nigeria has since recognized Governor Ortom as a National Political actor, as all eyes will be on him.

Ortom has successfully governed Benue for a two-term mandate and has delivered on the Benue top job effectively, sufficiently and satisfactorily, this delivery of dividends of democracy captured many sectors of the economy including security, critical infrastructure, Education, health and other sectors.

Based on Governor Samuel Ortom’s fulfilment of delivering his campaign promises to the Benue people and his brokenness in heart and his contrite spirit, God will not allow mortals to exert dominion on earth and to the extent of playing him. That is one quality God Almighty does not fiddle with, God does not compromise his honour and glory.

It is on the strength of the foregoing that I elect to say that as Governor Samuel Ortom leads PDP and other candidates of the party in the next year’s elections many of the Benue populace should be weary of few Benue sons who have acted God earlier and are up again to distort history and mislead the voting class.

As they are all out to distort facts and mislead the people to play God Almighty, it is a chronological fact and standard that God has maintained from time immemorial His unchangeable stand on rewarding those that rely on him, those that are broken in heart and contrite in their spirit. Bible records show that God sets aside protocols and rules for their sake.

Ortom will deliver Benue to PDP holistically because of his ability to sustain spiritual principles over time.
