Bandits invade residence, sets cleric ablaze in Niger
It would be recalled that the Late Cleric survived the 2011 December bomblast at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Madella, in Suleja Local Government Area of the state; and a kidnap attempt in his residence in 2013.
Reverend Father Isaac Achi, a catholic priest of Minna diocese, has been set ablazed by armed bandits in his residence in the early hours of today.
This was contained in a statement issued by the State police Public Relations Officer, PRO, DSP Wasiu Abiodun.
Confirming the incident, DSP Abiodun noted that the Cleric was set ablazed in his residence, while his colleague, identified as Rev. Fr. Collins sustained a gunshot while trying to escape the fiery scene.
“The lifeless body of Father Isaac was covered while Father Collins was rushed to the hospital for treatment,” the DSP added.
Achi, who until his demise, was the catholic Priest of St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church, Kaffin-Koro, Paikoro Local Government Area of the state.
