Scotland international Ben Doak has completed a move to Bournemouth in a deal worth up to £25 million, marking another high-profile departure from Liverpool in a summer that has seen the Premier League champions earn over £200 million from player sales.

The 19-year-old winger, who arrived at Anfield from Celtic in 2022 for just £600,000, made only 10 senior appearances for Liverpool but significantly boosted his profile with an impressive loan spell at Championship side Middlesbrough. He also earned six international caps for Scotland last season.

According to the BBC, Bournemouth will pay an initial £20 million, with a further £5 million in performance-related add-ons.

“I feel like it’s the right time for me and it’s a great opportunity to play regular football at the highest level. It feels like the perfect fit,” said Doak following the announcement. “The team play very nice football. It’s fast and it really suits my game, so I felt like I couldn’t say no to the chance to play here.”

Doak is the latest to exit Anfield in a busy window that has seen Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher, Jarell Quansah, and Tyler Morton also leave the club.

The outgoings have helped fund a significant rebuild under new manager Arne Slot, with Liverpool spending around £300 million on incoming talent, including Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, and Giovanni Leoni.

More business is expected before the transfer window closes in two weeks. A reported £110 million bid for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak has been rejected, while Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi is said to be nearing a move to Anfield.
