When it was reported that Bishop Elijah Orhonigbe had been arrested allegedly for rape, some Christians were saying, “That serves him right. Many are called, few are chosen. One down, more to follow.”

It is quite unfortunate that when stories like this are being circulated, many people – even ‘Christians’ – begin to rejoice. What is there to rejoice that someone – a general – is down?

It seems that nowadays we have more ‘foolish Galatians’ in the church and all they do is to rejoice when they hear that somebody has fallen. Every foolish Galatian of a Christian should know that preachers have enemies too. If they cannot succeed in killing you, they rubbish your good name, tarnish your image and destroy your credibility.
