The true test of a leader is not to set goals but to put it in motion and remain resolute for positive results. The battle in the Premier University today is not a fight for ID card or whatsoever, rather, it’s a clamor for academics to take its place in the country to be a tool for the liberation of the masses and push for communal growth.

The attacks on the education sector by the powers-that-be who seemed to have little or no understanding of the essence of education in a nation was heightened when corroborated by the support of academics who had been privileged to receive sound education at no cost. The attacks maintained its climb over the last two decades when schools had Dons who sponsored attacks against students and students’ movements. This decade, however, has not been left out or corrective. Notwithstanding, students’ movements had incessantly stood tests to lay down lives and times in sacrifices for quests.

The war for sound education has been one which is directly and/or indirectly be a communication to the government, however, school authorities have played the middle-man role as dogs of the oppressors to deny students, their right to air.

To prevent students from exercising the fundamental human rights to expression and movement, guns are being used to threaten and claim lives, suspension letters are used to demoralize a movement and send the warlords to hiding. This has become norm and is beginning to fade off. It may thus be necessary for the dogs to the kings to improvise or bow and yield.

The struggle in UI is hale and hearty and one begging the genuine support of all and sundry across board, students, workers, not the conventional NANS style of making a living from protests as exemplified in OCCUPY OAU IN RED, 2016 where the ‘comrades’ ended up with fat pockets clouded in a dramatic scene or the 2017 LAUTECH struggle with the constituted authority among a host of others. This is a call to Save UI, Save Nigeria.

The time is now that the people rise, having recognized the necessity to perpetuate the growth of the nation, promotion of our general welfare and maintenance of habitable community that the youths and students movement across board propel the movement as kick started by the Ojo Aderemi led administration of the Premier University Students’ Union.

If the king won’t give meat but rather unleash the dogs to bark and chase off the people, then the feast at the King’s chamber must be brought to halt even if it’d cost having the dogs out of the picture. The war is not with the dogs but the dogs may be the first to be silenced for the will of the people to come to pass.

However, the Ojo Aderemi led administration is new on board which proves that it’s never too early for leaders with defined goals to set things in motion……..

LIBERATION NOW!!!
