Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has approved the appointment of Awwal D. Tukur as the Secretary to the State Government.

Awwal, a former Member of the House of Representatives between 1999 and 2003 served as the Director General of the Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Adamawa State Peoples Democratic Party, in the 2023 general elections.

The governor’s decision to part ways with his erstwhile SSG is not unconnected with unsubstantiated allegations that the SSG and a few other party members were involved in anti-party activities.

Though Fintiri during a recent meeting with party stakeholders did not mince words when he told party members that appointment into office for his second term will largely reward and compensate party members who truly worked for his re-election as well as the success of the party in the polls.

Also, Fintiri has approved the appointment of Dr Edgar Amos as Chief of Staff Government House.

A release by Fintiri’s spokesperson, Humwashi Wonosikou, announcing the appointment, also unveiled the new head of service.
