Breaking News And Other Tidbits -By Joe Dauda

Finally please ask yourself why the mighty New York Times (one of the most influential newspapers in the entire world) would publish a picture to mislead their readers about a so-called starvation in Gaza: just to blame Israel of course. This fake story was posted on the main account of New York Times, with over 50 million followers. After it was proven that NYT had practiced falsehood, guess what they did. They published an apology to their readers but posted it on their other account which has only 88 thousand followers.

The strengthening of Israel and the weakening of the “European Union”: In 20 years, the shekel (Israel’s currency) has risen by almost 30% against the euro. This has happened in spite of the current war with Gaza, the recent war with Iran, and the many other wars tiny Israel has fought over the same period.

As proven by this response from ChatGPT, the misleading picture was used in a front page story.

On July 24, 2025, The New York Times ran a front‑page story titled “Gazans Are Dying of Starvation”, featuring a striking image of an emaciated toddler in Gaza, Mohammed Zakaria al‑Mutawaq, said to be about 18 months old.

The image quickly went viral and was cited by major outlets (BBC, CNN, The Guardian, etc.) as emblematic of mass starvation in Gaza. However critics highlighted discrepancies, such as the child’s healthy-looking older brother visible in the background.

Then on July 29–30, 2025, The New York Times issued an editor’s note clarifying that Mohammed suffers from pre‑existing medical conditions—including cerebral palsy, hypoxemia, and a genetic/muscle disorder.

Question:

Does the New York Times (plus CNN, BBC, and even The Guardian (UK) peddle fake news about Israel? Yes or no?

This is why some sincere people are still worried about Israel because of the fake news that claimed that Iran won the recent war not knowing that Israel achieved its strategic goal in the war, thoroughly humiliated Iran, and is now the top dog in the Middle East with no real military rival to challenge its superiority as a regional super power.
