Gunmen who stormed the Greenland community in the Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State on Monday were said to have succeeded in abducting three members of a family, therefore throwing residents into confusion.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the incident happened around 9pm when the armed men invaded the community located behind the 500 Housing Estate, Ganaja in the Ajaokuta Local Government Area of the state.

An eyewitness, who did not want his name in print for fear of victimisation, said the armed men arrived at the community in a Sienna vehicle.

The source said they shot indiscriminately while trying to kidnap a retired security officer believed to be their prime target.

The Chairman of the Greenland community, Paul Atabor, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Wednesday.
