BREAKING NEWS: Gunmen kidnap, kill police sergeant in Delta

THE Delta State Police Command, Saturday, confirmed the kidnap and killing of a police sergeant at a location around Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State.

The deceased police officer, simply identified as Sergeant Ifeanyi, was until his death, said to be attached to the Eagle Net patrol team of the Ughelli Area Command.

Though details of the incident were scanty at press time, sources said he was abducted on Thursday evening while returning home from official duty.

Confirming the incident on Saturday, Police Public Relations Officer of the State Command, Mr. Bright Edafe, said: “The police officer, after closing from work, was going home.

“He was intercepted and kidnapped; later, we discovered his dead body. Manhunt for the assailants is on and we will see how we can get them as soon as possible.”
