BREAKING NEWS: Gunmen kill Delta chief

A prominent chief of Ughievwen Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, Emmanuel Bikogha, has been shot dead by gunmen.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the gunmen attacked the Echihigan of Ughievwen Kingdom at the popular PTI junction in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, Sunday night, at about 7:10pm.

One of his palace colleagues, Chief Freeborn Ayoma, confirmed the gory incident to journalists, Monday morning.

However, detail of what might have led to the killing of Bikogha by the yet-to-be-identified gunmen was still sketchy.

Community sources described the deceased, who hailed from Owawha town in Ughievwen Kingdom, as a happily married, humble and honest gentleman who would, indeed, be missed by the Ughievwen people for his humility and peaceful conduct.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, could not be reached for comments on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
