One Ernest Omo-Ojo, a Nigerian who migrated to Canada to study, has won the overall best student award at Herzing College, Ottawa.

The award is tagged the Herzing College Cup and is often given annually to an exceptional student who specialises in high-demand skills in the institution.

Omo-Ojo emerged as the first winner from the Ottawa campus of the institution in the 30 years since the establishment of the award.

Herzing College is over 55 years old with seven campuses in Canada and in the United States. The Herzing Cup is a competition for students across all campuses.

The Herzing Cup involves submissions from various campuses nominating their best students each year to a panel of nearly 50 judges.

Omo-Ojo had been in ExxonMobil before relocating to Canada for study and he re-skilled at Herzing after authoring two books – The Potent Force of Sponsorship, and his latest, The Audacious Faith.

The books are focused on self-improvement based on his experiences while at Exxon.
