BREAKING: Omoyele Sowore shot by the Nigerian police

Armed policemen in Abuja have opened fire on human rights activist and leader of the #RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore during a protest to demand an end to insecurity in the country.

Sowore was shot in the right side of the stomach towards the hip by gun-wielding policemen drafted to the Unity Fountain.

According Sowore in his tweet earlier this morning at 10:21am, ACP Atine was the officer who targeted and shot at him without any probable cause.

Many people also sustained varying degrees of injury during the incident.

He has been rushed to an undisclosed hospital.
