Canadian rap superstar Drake placed $500,000 on Edmonton Oilers to win Stanley Cup

Rapper Drake of Canada has wagered $500,000 that the Edmonton Oilers will win the Stanley Cup. The musician shared a screenshot from the gaming website Stake on Instagram on Wednesday, revealing the wager with the remark, “Oilers are self-explanatory.”

Drake gambled on the Dallas Mavericks to win the NBA title in addition to the NHL. If all two wagers win, Drake could receive a huge payment of $2.4 million.

Drake has a reputation for regularly posting on Instagram about his significant betting activities.

His recent betting record has shown mixed fortunes. He wagered $700,000 that Sean Strickland would defeat Dricus du Plessis at UFC 297 in Toronto, however he lost the wager.

However, he rebounded a month later, winning nearly $1.2 million by betting on the Kansas City Chiefs to win the Super Bowl.

Drake’s latest stake, however, comes less than three weeks after the Nice For What hitmaker suffered a major loss when he bet on Tyson Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk.

The Stanley Cup final between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers is set to begin on Saturday in Sunrise, Florida, with high anticipation from fans and bettors alike.
