Chelsea Recall Nicolas Jackson from Bayern Loan After Liam Delap Injury
Despite Jackson having already traveled to Germany to finalize the loan deal, Chelsea informed Bayern that the move would no longer proceed. Instead, Jackson has been recalled to Stamford Bridge to provide additional cover in attack, with manager Enzo Maresca now short of striking options after Delap’s injury.
Chelsea have halted Nicolas Jackson’s planned loan move to Bayern Munich following an injury to striker Liam Delap. The 24-year-old English forward sustained a suspected hamstring strain during the first half of Chelsea’s match against Fulham on Saturday and was substituted for Tyrique George.
Jackson had previously been criticized for his recent performances and had seen his playing time reduced following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap from Brighton and Ipswich Town, respectively. However, with Delap now sidelined, Jackson is expected to stay with Chelsea’s first-team squad for the remainder of the season.
As Maresca prepares to face the challenges ahead, Jackson will be counted on to contribute alongside other forwards, including Joao Pedro and Willian Estevao. The club has yet to disclose the expected duration of Delap’s absence.
