Cholera outbreak: Lagos records 29 deaths

According to state health commissioner Prof. Akin Abayomi, there are fewer new cases of the cholera outbreak in Lagos state.

In a Monday press conference, Abayomi stated that as of June 23rd, 29 deaths had been reported; however, he also gave the assurance that no instances had been detected in schools since the start of the program.

In order to stop the illness from spreading even further, Abayomi added, public health initiatives are concentrated in populated areas.

He stated that while investigations are ongoing, the state is gathering samples in an effort to identify the outbreak’s primary source.
