Christianity, Africa, MFM Church, Olukoya, Prayers and Fear Mongering -By Nneka Okumazie

There are people in (say) a rural community, who hate each other, plot against each other – with steep evil and grim wickedness but forget that their contention is often irrelevant, beyond that community and irrelevant – with time.

The ferociousness of how they battle often seems like it’s everything in the world.

Many people who grew up in, or know of certain village situations, are familiar with susceptibility of anyone to attack, for some reason, or none.

This prompted some individuals to stay away from certain others, or places, or to find ways to protect themselves.

An approach for some – to be formidable, is devout Christianity.

It is impossible to not always pray as a true Christian, or not have to pray for deliverance from evil.

This prayer applies to all Christians anywhere in the world but asymmetrical to some in certain geographies.

The prayer can be without ceasing, if an individual or ministry decided to focus on it.

There are other prayers to say, but the intensity of prayers – for the righteous, avails much.

So if a Ministry underpins their praying model against darkness, it does not mean fear mongering.

Saying a Ministry’s precaution or defense is fear mongering is like saying someone who talks about road safety is fear mongering.

This model of prayer is also from the Scriptures, with several examples of divination, enchantment, principalities, powers, etc.

The attitude of continuing in prayer for true Christians is also one that will matter towards making Heaven.

And to be fully developed in one aspect of prayer is a springboard to pray other relevant ones.

There was a story in the Scriptures, where a King refused to watch and pray, and lost a part of his Kingdom.

[2 Chronicles 10:8, But he forsook the counsel which the old men gave him, and took counsel with the young men that were brought up with him, that stood before him.]

There is prayer for wisdom, prayer for humility, prayer for grace, prayer for righteousness, prayer for holiness, prayer for intelligence, prayer against provision, prayer for strength, etc. [2 Chronicles 7:14, If my people, which are called by my Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.]
