As Another Civil War Looms By Chido Onumah

There are lots of similarities between places and communities around the world, yet, some are developed or speedily developing while others aren’t.

There are no societies without smart people, strong people, people with skill, or daring people, etc. But the nurture of people across cultures – places the reach of what they achieve on varying pedestal.

There’ve been civil wars in many places, or other kinds of conflicts for other kinds of reasons. There’ve been courageous leaders who risked much and fought for their people.

There’s been independence, changes in alliance, etc. Lots of progress achieved against odds, at times, had been by collective courage.

But what could have left many countries around the world almost in nothingness of underdevelopment, when the same qualities – elsewhere that led to development is among their people?

Why is it that rather than success for policies and projects, they fall off flat and fast in many places?

It is impossible for just one leader to change a nation alone, or transcend beyond basic survival to superiority instinct.

Leadership with abundance of selflessness: leadership of tangential courage for further civilization of the place and superiority the people – inspiring others and making a difference.

How much courage are those with power in various sectors of society wielding for the good of the nation, in how to shape the future?
Or is it courage for what benefits them and their choice people, while leaving the whole to rot?

Tangential courage for development is relentless pursuits in ways to solve problems, regardless of challenges against the move.
And this, from a couple of offices or locations, done in transparent ways, to buoy corruption, disinformation, unfairness, etc. could spread and stay – making the country go a step up.

People often say there’s something wrong with black people. This is also said of other peoples – in developing places around the world.

But this is wrong, if anything, focus for all progress – is dwarfed by focus on personal progress or those known or encountered. There’s no – sustained – people determination on a broad scale.

It is a problem of courage – tangential to development, fairness, integrity, solutions and the future.

Courage or comfort, curiosity or who cares, total risk or temporal safety, results of nations are seen. [Judges 20:8, And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us go to his tent, neither will we any of us turn into his house.]
