Pastor Olagoke Titus of Christ Words Church, Ilorin, has called on Nigerians to be law-abiding and disciplined as part of their contribution to the country’s development.

Speaking in Ilorin on Friday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Pastor Titus stressed that citizens share responsibility with leaders in moving the nation forward.

According to him, many people disobey government regulations and later blame the leadership for the consequences.

“Support the country’s leadership by being responsible and obeying the laid-down rules. Stop violating the law intentionally,” he urged.

“It is your duty as a responsible citizen to obey constituted laws. You can make the country work when you obey the laws. Be disciplined, respect the rule of law, and learn to do things the right way rather than consistently faulting the leaders,” Titus added.

The cleric emphasized that leaders cannot perform effectively without the cooperation of the masses.

At the same time, he advised leaders to make people-friendly policies rather than harsh ones, urging them to always consider public well-being and provide alternatives before introducing long-term economic measures.
