The launch of Premium Motor Spirit, or PMS, also known as gasoline, has been hailed by the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, or NUPENG, as a significant step toward Nigeria’s energy independence and economic expansion.

NUPENG expressed excitement, saying that it is aware of the potential and pleased about the chances this development will offer in terms of socioeconomic prosperity, employment opportunities for Nigerians, and the significant expansion of our beloved country.

NUPENG praised President Bola Tinubu and Aliko Dangote in a letter of congratulations sent by its general secretary, Afolabi Olawale, to the president and CEO of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote. The letter read, “The leadership and entire members of the NUPENG, celebrate and felicitate with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”, the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and the entire management team and staff of Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Company on the historic and landmark commencement of the production of gasoline, otherwise known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).
