While the crisis of the education sector were still ongoing in the country. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) were need only 1.3 trillion from the federal government to tackling the problems of over 2.1 million of students in the Universities.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities ( ASUU ) has been shutting down the Academic activities in University for more than a cumulative period of 4 years in 23 years leading to constant disruption of the Academic calendar and disappointment of the students on the inability of the Academic union and the federal government were couldn’t settling their differences promises that taking to the (ASUU).

The Strike, which commenced on 14 February 2022, about 6 to 7 mouths ago seems to be unending despite several meetings consultations and negotiations between the Academic Staff Union and the federal government which have yielded no result.

Once little time, the federal government inform that there is little money in circulation only for the president to approve the purchase and donation of 1.4 billion naira worth of 2022 Toyota land cruiser v8 to the Niger Republic in August 2022 as an attempt to help the country’s capacity to protect the citizens. This coming after the federal government donated $1 million dollars to Afghanistan taliban government in March 2022.

The Action of ongoing Asuu strike are Nigeria must take stringent step to ensure the commencement of Academic activities in Nigeria public universities and this begins with meeting the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

While the ASUU keeps and agree with the agreement with the government that may be able to provide details of these agreement were the specific recurrent issues in the union agitation, some of which Include academic allowances, funding autonomy and recent the demand for the Universities Transparency Accountability Solution  (UTAS) as a replacement for the integrated payroll and personnel Information system (IPPS).

However that the Academic Staff Union of Universities does not intend to stop the ongoing strike until the government meets their demand. This means the Academic lives of thousands of undergraduates could be up their knowledge, strike action by Asuu have always been an issue of great concern caused students to spend more time away from the classes than statuary duration in school, unfortunately is a contributing factor to the increasing crime in the country as many youths resort to illegal means to attain wealth thereby compromising their future..
