Coventry Celebrate Lampard’s First Anniversary With 3–1 Victory Over Charlton

Championship leaders Coventry marked Frank Lampard’s first anniversary as manager with a 3–1 victory over Charlton. Ellis Simms scored twice as the Sky Blues stayed 10 points clear, while Middlesbrough, Millwall, Norwich and others also claimed key wins.

Championship leaders Coventry City extended their commanding 10-point lead with a 3–1 win over Charlton Athletic, marking manager Frank Lampard’s one-year anniversary at the club in impressive fashion.

Harvey Knibbs opened the scoring for Charlton, but Coventry hit back before halftime through Josh Eccles and Ellis Simms.
Simms later struck again with 14 minutes left, taking his tally to five goals in his last three matches.

Charlton, who have now conceded 11 goals in three games, suffered their fourth straight defeat after previous losses to Wrexham, Southampton and Stoke.

Middlesbrough move second in Hellberg’s debut

Middlesbrough climbed into the automatic promotion places after a 2–1 comeback win over in-form Derby County.
It was new manager Kim Hellberg’s first match since joining from Hammarby, following Rob Edwards’ move to Wolves.

Derby struck early—Patrick Agyemang scored within 90 seconds—but Boro dominated the second half.
Newcastle loanee Matt Targett equalised with 15 minutes remaining before Morgan Whittaker sealed the win in the 84th minute, his third goal in as many games.


Millwall edge Southampton with stoppage-time drama

Millwall’s Tristan Crama netted in the 7th minute of added time, securing a 3–2 victory over Southampton.
Saints believed they had earned a draw after Finn Azaz scored his fifth goal in four matches, but Crama’s late strike kept Millwall firmly in the promotion race.

Norwich end 13-game drought under new manager

Philippe Clement earned his first win as Norwich City boss as the Canaries snapped a 13-match winless run, beating QPR 3–1.

Emiliano Marcondes gave Norwich an early lead, but Rumarn Burrell equalised two minutes later.
Norwich restored control with two quick first-half goals: an Amadou Mbengue own-goal and a curling finish from Amankwah Forson, sealing their first win since August 30.


Portsmouth drop into relegation zone; Sheffield United beat Leicester

Portsmouth slipped into the bottom three after a 1–0 home defeat to Bristol City, decided by Anis Mehmeti’s 17th-minute header.

Sheffield United’s 3–2 win at Leicester pushed Pompey into the relegation zone.
The Blades burst ahead with goals from Tom Cannon and Jairo Riedewald within four minutes, before Sydie Peck made it 3–0 with a superb volley.

Leicester fought back through Stephy Mavididi, and Jordan James added a spectacular long-range strike in the 82nd minute, but the comeback fell short.
