Cross River APC reaffirns confidence in Governor Otu

…Dismisses mischief over Kwankwaso’s visit

‎The All Progressives Congress (APC), Cross River State Chapter, has noted with utmost disappointment the baseless and mischievous reports being circulated by detractors attempting to link Governor Bassey Edet Otu with a purported alliance with the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) following the recent visit of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to Calabar.

‎We state categorically that such insinuations are not only false but malicious. Governor Otu remains a loyal and committed leader of the APC in Cross River State, whose fidelity to the party is unquestionable.

His track record of service to the party at both the state and national levels speaks volumes and is the reason the APC, under the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Working Committee, has consistently entrusted him with high-level responsibilities as Campaign Chairman for crucial governorship elections in Imo, Edo, and most recently Anambra States.

He has already delivered resounding victories in Imo and Edo, and has assured the leadership of the party of another landslide victory in Anambra.

‎It is therefore laughable and indeed an insult to the intelligence of Cross Riverians and indeed party faithful for mischief makers to suggest that a Governor so highly trusted by the President and the National Leadership of our great Party would suddenly contemplate abandoning the APC.

Such insinuations are nothing but the handiwork of desperate political merchants who thrive on spreading falsehood to cause disaffection where none exists.

‎For the avoidance of doubt, the APC in Cross River State has already passed a unanimous vote of confidence on Governor Otu as the consensus candidate of the party for the 2027 Gubernatorial Elections.

This decision reflects the overwhelming support and trust he enjoys from the party’s Leadership at all levels, as well as the grassroots who remain firmly aligned with his “People First” agenda.

His second-term ticket is not in doubt; it is already firmly in his pocket. Governor Otu will never jettison this mandate, not even for a consensus presidential or vice-presidential ticket of any political party in 2027.

He has no issues whatsoever with the APC, either at the State or National Level, to warrant the idle imagination of attention-seeking busy bodies who thrive on mischief and falsehood.

‎We therefore , urge the public to ignore the vile fabrications being peddled by detractors and to focus instead on the ongoing transformational strides of the Otu-led administration.

The APC in Cross River State stands solidly behind our Governor, and we are confident that together we will consolidate on our progress and deliver even greater victories for our people and our party.
