Cross River: I’ll protect children’s rights – Bassey Otu

The Governor-elect of Cross River State, Senator (Prince) Bassey Otu, has vowed to ensure the protection of children’s rights as he takes charge of the affairs of the state from Monday, May 29, 2023.

In a statement to commemorate the May 27 Children’s Day personally signed by him, the Cross River incoming governor said his administration in the state will prioritize the wellbeing of children.

The statement reads: “As we join other children around the world to mark this year’s children’s day celebration. Let me assure our children that my administration will prioritize their happiness and wellbeing.

“Not only will we be deliberate in creating a Cross River State that is safe but also that which the rights of all children will be protected. 

“The theme of this year’s celebration, ‘Investing in our future means investing in our children’ is even apt. 

“I assure our children of my administration’s commitment to invest in them as a mark of the greatness we want to see tomorrow.
