Cross River Revokes Cattle Movement Permit Issued to Miyetti Allah Over Security Concerns

Cross River State has revoked the cattle movement permit previously issued to Miyetti Allah for transporting livestock from Ebonyi to Cameroon. The state ordered security agencies to halt any such movement and enforce the new directive.

The Cross River State Government has withdrawn the cattle movement permit earlier granted to the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association for transporting cattle from Ebonyi State through Cross River to Cameroon.

The decision was announced in a statement released in Calabar by Emmanuel Anom, Commissioner for Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries Development.

According to Anom, the revocation nullifies the previously approved permit.

“The Commissioner, on behalf of the Cross River State Government, hereby announces the cancellation of the movement permit earlier issued to the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders for the movement of their cattle from Ebonyi State, across Cross River State, to Cameroon.

“This cancellation supersedes the previously issued permit. All security agencies are hereby directed to be vigilant and prevent any such movement through Cross River State,” the statement read.
