Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has responded to the resignation of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

On Tuesday, Davido shared the news on his X page with a brief caption, “Jeje…”, which many interpreted as a call for calm amid the unfolding political developments.

Governor Adeleke’s departure from the PDP became public on Monday night through a resignation letter dated November 4, 2025, addressed to the chairman of Ward 2 in Ede North. He cited the ongoing crisis within the party as the reason for his exit.

In the letter titled “Resignation of my membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP),” the governor stated:

“Due to the current crisis of the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my Membership of the People’s Democratic Party with immediate effect. I thank the People’s Democratic Party for the opportunities given to me for my elections as a Senator (Represented Osun West) and as Governor of Osun State under the People’s Democratic Party.”
